Frequently Asked Question (F.A.Q)

Q: I'm getting a weird error when I launch the application (The application failed to initialize properly - 0xc0000135) ?

A: This is the .Net Framework, we rely on this technology to save us hours of programming. The .Net Framework is created by Microsoft for that purpose.

You can get the .Net Framework via Windows update or just install this stand alone file: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en

Q: Why is the tool free?

A: First thanks to GenoPro for hosting the web site for free since the beginning.
We did that for fun, during our evening and week-end.
There may be some plan in the future to offer great features at some cost but the basic tool will remain free to enhance the Guild Wars community.

Q: Is the tool considered as a Hack or a Cheat?

A: NcSoft/Arena.net will never approve any tools. Tools exists in any game and are part of the community. GWFreaks tool is not interacting with the game whatsoever and will not give you in-game advantage at all. It's just a bunch of information (skills, attributes, elite location, map) loaded into an application that could be found on webs sites.

Q: Is your tool safe? Keylooger or trojan?

A: With over 150 000 downloads of the tool, a lots of people have check that with firewall. Since version 2.0, the tool never connect to the Internet without your interaction (if you click on Update, it will for instance). Previous version were also safe, but they were checking at startup for a new version once a week. The tool was existing even before the game was released and has hundred of hours of works to get to that point, it's pretty rare hacker spend that time for a stupid trojan...

The tool is already accepted by well reputated site such as GWOnline.net

No personal information are sent to the server.

Q: How to uninstall the tool?

A: Use the "Add or Remove Programs" from the control panel. If you still have file (such as template) delete them manually.

At any time it's safe to remove the tool by selecting the folder and pressing the delete key on your keyboard.
